Diablo IV Currency: Everything you need to know

Por: Leonardo Souza

Diablo IV will feature a variety of currencies, from upkeep tokens, gambling obols, to PVP-related cosmestic redeemables. This article aims to list each of these currencies and explain where they can be found, where they should be spent and how to maximize their benefits.

Gold

Gold is the basic currency in Diablo IV, as it was in the previous games in the series. This currency is found from monsters and chests, or by selling items and legendary aspects. Gold is a very important resource that is used in almost everything, praticularly gear-related activities (buying, upgrading, etc).

Gold will be relatively easy to find, being commonly dropped from monsters and chest. It is required mostly for character upkeep;

Red Dust

Red Dust is a currency part of Diablo 4's PvP end-game. Red Dust is not found directly on monsters, chests or from other players, but rather obtained by converting Seeds of Hatred at an Altar of Extraction. The process of conversion will produce Red Dust, which can be redeemed at PvP Cosmetic and Mount Vendors for ornamental rewards.

Red Dust will be a tough currency to obtain, being a result from converting Seed of Hatred, which toggles PVP and can be lost;

Murmuring Obols

Murmuring Obols is a form of currency in Diablo 4. Murmuring Obols are acquired by completing events throughout Sanctuary, triggered by orange circles on your map, marking a Local Event in the world of Diablo 4. These events are the only source of Murmuring Obols which can be used at the local Purveyor of Curiosities for gambling purposes.

Murmuring Obols is linked primarily to gambling, and may be easy to find if the player is actively searching for world events;
