Explore, grow and survive! These are the keywords for Wildmender, an indie game currently in development by Muse Games which has landed on Steam with its first playable demo. In Wildmender, players find themselves in a vast and arid landscape with the challenge of restoring the environment. Surviving the barren wilderness is a fraction of your contingencies, as you explore a procedurally generated world on adventures into the desert seeking, collecting and storing essential resources to defend your oasis against vicious wraiths who seek to corrupt it. Build your own lush paradise in singleplayer or develop an oasis with with friends in a 4-player online co-op mode.
However, Wildmender is not limited to a farming simulator. As you deepen into its gameplay, you’ll unlock spells and upgradable items that will help you on your mission to restore the landscape. As you gather more magical essence and master new spells, you’ll grow powerful enough to rescue ancient deities, earn their favour, and learn even more from them about the old magic that lies buried deep within the heart of the landscape.
Announced on Steam earlier this year, the trailer for this open-world survival crafter gave us a Breath of the Wild vibe with colorful and atmospheric environments, delightful character models and adorable wildlife. Indeed, in an industry where it's become hard to stand out, Muse Games and UK-based publisher Kwalee has presented an eye-catching indie title that grabs out attention with an charming and elegant look.
Wildmender will launch on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 in 2023. According to its developers, Wildmender will run flawlessly on an Intel i5 9600K or equivalent, 16GB of RAM and on a nVidia TGX 1060 6GB GPU or equivalent. It also requires a 64-bit (Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10) operating system.
